What order to publish your packet articles and anchor article page

A Complete Deployment Packet has seven pieces: a parent anchor article — also called your landing page — and six supporting articles. They reference each other, so the order matters.

Recommended publishing sequence:

  1. Article 01. Publishes first. Your packet’s strongest standalone topic — if someone searches it, they land on a real, complete article.
  2. Article 02. Publishes second. Cite Article 01 from Article 02 only after 01 is published.
  3. Article 03. Publishes third.
  4. Publish your anchor article now (with links to Articles 01–03 only). The anchor article publishes once you have at least three articles to anchor it. Mark the remaining article links as “coming soon” or leave them out for now.
  5. Article 04. Live. Update the anchor article to add its link.
  6. Article 05. Live. Update the anchor article.
  7. Article 06. Live. Update the anchor article.
  8. Final pass: every article gets a link back to the anchor article in its body. Add these during a final cleanup pass.

If you’d rather publish all six articles first and then the anchor article, that also works — it just means more time before the anchor article is live.

The wrong way: publishing the anchor article first with broken or missing links to articles you haven’t written yet. Search engines mark those as low-quality, and visitors land in dead ends.

Common publishing order issues:

  • I want to skip an article I don’t plan to publish — you can. Just don’t link to it from the anchor article, and the packet still works. The internal-link map in each article’s README will call out what to swap.
  • I already published in a different order — do I need to redo it? — no. Just check every internal link for 404s and update where needed. Republishing isn’t required.
  • What if I never publish all six? — the anchor article works with any subset of three or more. Fewer than three and the anchor article looks thin.
  • How long between articles? — most buyers publish one every 2–4 weeks. Faster is fine if you have the bandwidth; slower is fine if you don’t.
