Content Matters Labs ("we," "our") respects your privacy. This page explains what we collect when you visit our site or buy from us, why, and what choices you have.
The short version
We keep collection to a minimum — basically your email if you opt in, and what's needed to deliver a purchase. We use Cloudflare's privacy-respecting analytics (no cookies, no personal tracking). We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not run third-party advertising trackers. You can email us anytime to delete what we have on you.
What we collect
- Form submissions. If you fill out our contact form or sign up for updates, we collect your name and email address. We use it to reply to you and, if you opted in, to send occasional emails about new packets.
- Purchase data. When you buy a packet, the payment is processed by Gumroad. Gumroad collects your billing information; we never see your card number. We do receive your name, email, and order details so we can deliver the files and respond to support requests.
- Site analytics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts visitors and page views without cookies, fingerprinting, or personal identifiers. We can see "100 people visited the H2S article this week" but not who you are.
What we don't collect
- We don't run Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, TikTok Pixel, or other behavioral trackers.
- We don't rent or share your information with marketing partners.
- We don't use cookies to track you across other websites.
If you're on our list, every email has an unsubscribe link. One click removes you. We honor opt-outs promptly — typically within one business day, and always within the 10-day window required by the CAN-SPAM Act. We will also delete your email from our records on request — write to contact@contentmatterslabs.com.
Cold outreach
If we email you about our packets and you didn't ask to hear from us, that email will include an unsubscribe link and our valid physical postal address as required by law. We honor opt-outs and do not re-email people who unsubscribe.
Children
Our site and packets are intended for business use. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Third parties we use
These vendors handle small specific functions and have their own privacy policies:
- Gumroad — payment processing and digital file delivery.
- Cloudflare — site hosting, security, and privacy-respecting analytics.
- GoDaddy — domain and website hosting.
We choose vendors specifically for their privacy posture. When we add new vendors that handle personal data — including any future email service provider — we will update this section before that vendor processes any user data.
Business transfers
In the unlikely event Content Matters Labs is sold, merged, or acquired, customer records may transfer to the acquiring entity. The acquiring entity will be bound by a privacy policy at least as protective as this one, and we will notify subscribers of any material change.
Your rights
You can email us at any time to:
- Ask what data we have on you (we'll tell you within 30 days)
- Correct anything that's wrong
- Delete your records
For California residents (CCPA/CPRA): you have the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete it, and the right to opt out of any "sale" or "sharing" — though we don't sell or share your data, so the third right is moot for us.
For EU/UK residents (GDPR/UK-GDPR): the same rights apply, plus the right to data portability and the right to object to processing. Our lawful bases for processing are: (a) your consent (newsletter), (b) performance of contract (purchases), and (c) legitimate interest (replying to your support emails).
Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, the "Last updated" date at the top changes. Material changes — anything that meaningfully expands what we collect — will be communicated to current users via email before taking effect.
